1970 Opel GT

Greetings!

I’m not sure where to post this, but since it’s *almost* antique, I
thought I’d start here.  I have acquired a 1970 Opel GT 1900, and
need some contacts.  I need all kinds of chrome, some mechanical
parts, and such.  Does anyone know/has anyone heard of a group
that deals with/is interested in these cars?  I’m in the Washington,
DC area and need help!!

Thanks,
Amy

I have been restoring a 73 GT, have all the running gear done and ready
to start on the interior now.  I had to have each and every part I needed
manufactured!  For instance, the A-arm bushings were $25 each made out of
    urethane.

There is a company in CA (don’t have their info handy) that will make me
new window mouldings for $169 per window – including the small side
windows :(  I have to manufacture my own center console, which is sun
rotted.  It houses the factory air etc.  I have to pull it out, make a
mold and then cast another one in fiberglass.

Even without the interior restored, I have about two offers a week to
sell it for $10000 (body is perfect).  I have been told several times it
will be worth $15000 when I finish the interior.

Email me a list of what you need and I will check a local source that has
been good about locating mfrs to produce what I have needed.

My brother has one of these baby vettes – it’s a ’71. I think they were
sold in the USA by Buick dealers… He lives in Houston TX and I know had a
hard time getting parts – I think he has the car
up for sale now – it had a whole bunch of work done on it, including a bare
metal up respray & new chrome etc.

One contact for parts is: C&R Small Cars Inc 697 Cedar St Newington CT 06111
    Call 203 665 0233.

There is also a club  North America Opel GT Club 1135 E Washington Blvd
    Lombard IL 60148 Call 708 629 6792.
    Have fun

May or may not be of interest.  There is a house down the street from mine
that has had a black Opel GT parked in the same spot in the side driveway
since about 1984!  It has since been tied to the ground by spider webs and
the paint has faded.  based on typical Arizona sun damage, the interior
and any plastic or rubber parts exposed to the sun arer probably rotted
or cracked.  However the metal and chrome seems to last forever out here.

If you want me to inquire as to its purchase, email me direct.

Since it seems that there are at least a few GT owners out there, I thought I’d
    place an ad…

Parting out 3 Opel Gt’s (1970-73), mail me your want list!
