1971 Demon – removing headlight switch knob

September 2nd, 2010

Looking closely, I thought I saw threads, but a stout twist didn’t produce
results.  All other knobs on the dash just pull off.  Help!

Need info on popcorn truck

September 2nd, 2010

Does anyone out there have any information on old popcorn trucks,
especially Ford Model A or AA but any information would be appreciated.
I am looking for measurements or good pictures that I could establish
measurements from. My brother and I have talked about trying to build
one up for fun so any information at all would be appreciated. Maybe
even a web site that has info?

Cheers,
Bob

Solo 6×6 amphibic vehicle or similar?

September 2nd, 2010

Hi,

I am trying to find information and/or WWW site(s) for small amphibic
vehicles.  Many years ago, maybe in the late 1970s, there was a company
called "Solo", which produced a tiny 6×6 vehicle, which could swim, had
no roof, and offered seats for 4 people without luggage.  I remember
seeing this company on an exhibition in the late 1980s.  Do they still
exist?  Any information on where they are based (which country)? Any
information on the vehicles and their technical specs?

Any help in this direction, also pointers to other producers of similar
vehicles are greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Thomas.

1962 Mercedes 220SE

September 2nd, 2010

I was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me.  My father
owned a 1962 Mercedes 220SE 2 Door, the body and interior is in very
good condition, it only has ~ 34,000 miles on it.  My father  passed
away in Feb of this year, and it is sitting in my mother’s garage.  We
are trying to determine how much the car is worth.  Would anyone know
approx. how much it is worth?  Or who I could contact to determine the
value.

Thanks for your time.

Welding spatters on Windshield

September 2nd, 2010

Not too smart I know, but I have gotten some fine welding spatters on the
interior of the windshield of my 1968 Skylark.  Three questions about removing
these.

1.  I see glass polishing kits in both J.C. Whitney and Eastwood catalogs.
Will
this work to smooth down these spatters?

2.  The windshield has a tinted top portion.  Am I correct in assuming this
tint is
between the layers of glass and would not be affected by polishing?

3.  If I have to replace the windshield.  Will a windshield from a 1968 Skylark
Custom Sedan fit this 1968 Skylark Custom Convertible?

Many thanks for any advise,

Don
